Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who is currently fighting with the Flyweight Division of UFC. Valentina is her older sister, and also a UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sport career as a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimous decision. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off her professional MMA career in 2002 after the victory over Anara Baanova at the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She won the fight via second-round TKO and also won her subsequent 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass a record of 3-0. Shevchenko was forced to take a time off from MMA and concentrated on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa with a unanimous win. She then went on to beat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She was a part of the Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her superior striking abilities during the clinch final round with knees placed on her body. In the aftermath of this victory, Antonina was given the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina made her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi by a unanimous decision. She then lost her subsequent fight because of a split verdict. Antonina recovered from this defeat by beating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her subsequent three bouts. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
